This training meets current regulatory DOT requirements for training as listed in 49 CFR Part 172, Sub part H - Training. This training ensures that a hazmat employee has familiarity with the general provisions of this sub chapter. He or she is capable of recognizing and identifying hazardous materials, has the basic knowledge of the requirements for performing the (function specific) tasks of his job, and the employee has the knowledge of emergency response requirements, security awareness, self protection measures and accident prevention methods and procedures. The employees will be furnished with handouts that provide guidance and directions to the proper regulatory section that covers their particular hazmat job function. It includes those persons that prepare the necessary shipping documents to meet DOT standards for shipment of hazardous material.
